My favorite part of the #crossfitopen is the community and support everyone shows each other. @rocknrollman24 fought till the end. Congrats to all the athletes that competed and finished all 5 workouts you just #leveledup#livefree#community#fitfam
@crossfit #18Point5 is in the books! 79 reps (4 into the round of 15 #C2B ) isn’t bad considering I never RX C2B in a workout during the year. I’ll be changing that moving forward so that my 2019 scores will improve over this year. Big thanks to my man Ben of @jamersoncrossfit for being my judge in this one. Again, big shout out to my whole box for their support. Such a great #CrossfitCommunity we have! Of course my amazing nutrition coach @kategreen418 of @brickbybricknutrition for getting me right and keeping me there thru the entire #CrossfitOpen . And last, but most certainly not least, my better half @ret89 for pushing me to be my best in and out of the gym! Of course I need to mention my sponsors (that I pay to wear their gear 🤣) @underarmour, @nike, and @barehand_gloves. When I finally make it to the @crossfitgames, maybe we’ll be able to flip that sponsorship payment plan 😉💪🏻🥇 Now back to our regularly scheduled programming to get better before #19Point1 ! 📸: @ryan_gunner .
😍🙏👼 #minhafilha#minhavida#crossfitfamily#open2018#crossfitopen#baitacrossfit
It’s been a crazy 5 weeks doing my first ever #crossfitopen in 2018. I’ve been doing crossfit only about 6 months now and it’s definitely brought the competitiveness out of me.so I guess this will count as my sport? Anyway I’ve been to multiple crossfit boxes during the open and the community is amazing, everyone’s supportive, positive and driven to be fit! Good experience 👌🏼#serviceopen#notredoing18 .5 #maybe
Traditionally, March hasn’t been great to my body. I had back surgery March 2009 for a herniated disc at age 22 (woo Spring Break!). In March of 2016, I went to the ER after a week of not being able to move. I learned I’d torn the disc above the one I had surgery on. My L4 and L5 discs are supposed to be white and full of fluid like their friends in the rest of my spine.
A lot of muscle relaxers, an epidural, and tons of PT later I was back on my feet and active. I spent a year casually working out on my own.
In January 2018, I started CrossFit and in March I just finished my first CrossFit Open! I did all of the workouts scaled and fought through until the end. My goal when I started was to finish.
The first picture is why I never imagined I’d be here, those two discs causing me consistent issues over the last 9 years. The second picture is all of my completed scorecards from 5 weeks of workouts!
Here’s to a new outlook on March and doing all workouts RX next year! 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
I won’t be finishing the #crossfitopen as I had planned. I’m nursing an aggravated knee, just hoping to post a score tomorrow for #18 .5, so busy with work and kids and consequently my discipline and diet off the rails. But, if we just keep coming back to good habits, that’s what matters. Establish a good nutritional foundation, a consistent healthy meal, and it’s so much easier to get back in line. To forgive, re-set, re-focus, and keep working toward goals. It’s also much easier when you’re surrounded by a supportive community who lead by example @crossfitcurrahee #eattoperform#macrosonpoint#nutrition#fitness#crossfit
